Practical Gift Giving Guide

Practical Gift Giving Guide

It’s that time of year again! The time where gift giving is filled with equal parts joy and stressful frantic searching for the ‘perfect’ gift. I’m a big believer that any gift is worth giving buuuut I’m also a fan of practical gifts that people can actually use!

“Wow, thank you for this gnome” isn’t something I want to be saying over the holidays!

If you’re into practical gift giving as much as I am, this short list is the list for you!

       1.

Gratitude Journal

I know this is super trendy but just bare with me! What greater gift is there than giving someone a reason to be grateful? I will admit, when I first had the idea of giving someone a gratitude journal I thought it might come off… well just rude. I quickly realized everyone isn’t as easily offended as I am and that this gift actually rocks!

2.

Fuzzy AF Cozy Socks

I don’t care what age you are, receiving a pair of ugly cozy holiday socks is like a right of passage. Every single year my sister and I get a pair of holiday socks and I live for it! Cozy socks are perfect for this time of year, being that it is always freezing and they are relatively cheap which make them the perfect add-in to any gift!

3.

Cozy Hooded Robe

Taking the lounge game to a whole new level. This robe is my favorite style (not like fashion style… although, it makes whoever is wearing it look like a boss) because it’s ankle length, has pockets (!!!) and has a hood! Plus, it is ridiculously thick. There is nothing worse than having a paper thin robe in the winter.

4.

Breville Espresso Machine

Easily the most expensive thing on this list but if you have a “friend” that loves coffee, this is the gift for you  them! There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying yourself a little holiday cheer mmk? I own this exact model, use it daily and have so for over a year… this baby is well worth the investment.

5.

Fair Trade Coffee Beans

If you are going to get yourself friend an espresso machine, you might as well go the extra mile and get them some fair trade coffee! Even if you aren’t buying the espresso machine, buying some java beans with a cute reusable mug can be such a thoughtful gift! Just make sure they actually drink coffee mmk?

 6.

Adidas Ultraboost Running Shoes

Yes, these are a little pricey. Yes, they are worth it. I have used every type of athletic shoes out there ranging from $20-$200. High quality shoes are worth it! If you are looking to buy a special gift for your sister, mother, friend or yourself… this is one to think about!

7.

House Plants

House plants are super trendy right now but they actually have more going for them than a cool factor. In the winter months we tend to stay inside and fresh air isn’t a hot commodity. House plants ensure we are getting fresh oxygen and help filter those pesky germs.

8.

Food Container Storage

I know this seems like a silly one but this baby grandma is obsessed with kitchen organization. These storage containers are very reasonably priced and would be perfect for a mom or sibling!

9.

Bamboo Cutting Board

I will be the first to admit that I have a few really gross plastic cutting boards that probably shouldn’t be in use anymore. Transitioning over to a bamboo cutting board would be ideal! This one is heavy duty and pretty enough to leave out on the counter.

10.

Mantra Cuff

“Keep Fucking Going” excuse my french but sometimes a straight forward pep talk is just what we need! I love this cute little cuff and think it would be the most adorable gift!

11.

Cast Iron Skillet

Whether they are a new chef, transitioning over from nonstick skillets or a seasoned chef that likes adding more skillets to their family… this gift is a winner. Use the skillet as the basket and fill it with dish towels, salt (for seasoning) and a cute recipe card. For under $20, you have the perfect gift!

12.

Popular Books

This book has taken the world by storm and for good reason! It is one of my top ten favorite books, BUT any book is a great gift idea! For under 15 dollars, you really can’t go wrong. Here are some other books that I’ve loved:

13.

Back and Neck Massager

Legitimately getting this for Cody for Christmas. You mean I don’t have to massage your back because you have this new handy massage tool? SOLD. TIMES TEN.

14.

Acupuncture Mat

Guess what? You don’t need trendy name brand products to have the exact same effect. Cody and I use this exact mat (in black) that we both use every night before going to bed. We LOVE it! This mat will only cost you 20 dollars vs 200 dollars for the trendy one!

15.

Reusable Grocery Totes

I cannot tell you how much I love these! I use them for just about everything. They are great for family outings, organization for long drives in the car, car storage (emergency kit, blanket and water!), I’ve even used them when I was moving! Fill one with a few practically priced items like a reusable mug, dollar bin blanket and a hot coco packet and your gift is done!
